Sept. 16, 2008 - “Emerging Markets: The Indian Influence:” Education Session Scheduled for AAPEX 2008
BETHESDA, MD – Sept. 16, 2008 – AAPEX attendees will learn how India, the eleventh largest automotive market in the world, is poised to overtake its neighbor China as the world's fastest growing car market, during an educational program presented by Dr. Debashish Chakraborty, Central Michigan University, entitled, “Emerging Markets: The Indian Influence.” The session will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Sands Expo Center, rooms 303/304.
With a population exceeding 1.1 billion and a surging economy, India has become a huge attraction for both OE and aftermarket manufacturers. To better understand the opportunities that India presents, Dr. Chakraborty will speak about the trends in the Indian auto industry, growth projections, exports, imports and the potential for mergers and acquisitions of brands external to the subcontinent.
