The Impact of Health Care Legislation to be the Focus of AWDA’s Executive Briefing 2010 Conference
BETHESDA, MD – July 27, 2010 – The Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) will present an exclusive Executive Briefing during its 2010 Business & Education Conference from 3:45 p.m. to 5:10 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, at the Venetian Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas, Nev.
The two-part briefing is being produced by the University of the Aftermarket for AWDA and sponsored by Tenneco, Inc., with additional support from Activant Solutions and Wells Vehicle Electronics. The session will offer a high-level view of The Future of Healthcare: What Industry Leaders Need to Know. Registration is free for all AWDA conference registrants and just $50 for all other aftermarket professionals.
Amanda Austin, director of federal public policy, National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), will keynote part one with a description of what the recent health care law means to small- and medium-sized businesses and the companies that service them. Austin is a nationally-recognized expert on health care reform, especially as it relates to independent businesses, which make up the vast majority of the traditional aftermarket. She works directly with policymakers on Capitol Hill to ensure that lawmakers are aware of, and responsive to, the health care concerns of the business community.
Part two of AWDA’s Executive Briefing will feature a panel of AWDA members sharing their strategies for dealing with the momentous changes in health care benefits that are rapidly approaching. This session will be moderated by Phil Healy, executive director, Automotive Wholesalers Association of New England, and a passionate and educated expert on the subject of health care and insurance for the aftermarket.
Seminar attendees will receive 0.2 continuing education units (CEUs) toward their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) certificates from the University of the Aftermarket.
