AAIA Sets Ambitious Agenda for Spring Leadership Days

BETHESDA, MD – March 25, 2010 – Thirty-eight meetings and events are scheduled for the more than 400 volunteer leaders and guests expected to attend the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association’s (AAIA) Spring Leadership Days in Hollywood, Fla., May 5-7, at the Westin Diplomat Hotel.

In addition to the membership segment and committee meetings scheduled over the three-day event, elections results for the board of directors and association officers will be announced. At the State of the Association luncheon on Thursday, May 6, Kathleen Schmatz, AAIA president and CEO, will unveil a number of new association initiatives and update members on recent activities and accomplishments.

Jonathan Carey, vice president, BB&T Capital Markets, will present an aftermarket industry overview at the Thursday luncheon.

“AAIA Leadership Days are conducted twice a year in the spring and fall where our volunteer leadership and professional staff, along with industry VIPs, get together to discuss issues of importance to member companies, to develop action plans and strategies to address threats and opportunities and to network,” said Schmatz.

“It’s during Leadership Days where attendees witness first-hand the valuable interaction made possible within a vertically integrated trade association. AAIA’s unique structure offers exclusive forums for communication and dialogue among all the players in the distribution channel. Manufacturers and retailers can talk openly and candidly with repair shop owners and distributors,” Schmatz said.
