"AAIA SmartBrief" Subscriber Base Sees Dramatic Growth

BETHESDA, MD – Jan. 12, 2010 – AAIA SmartBrief, the bi-weekly electronic newsletter of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), continues to grow its opt-in readership base, currently at 3,647, while exceeding industry newsletter open rates and click-through rates. Much of the impressive 45 percent subscription growth experienced in 2009 is the result of introducing new features exclusive to the AAIA SmartBrief. They include:

  • The weekly AAIA/BB&T Weekly Automotive Aftermarket Intelligence Update, providing comprehensive and timely information and trends about the aftermarket and the relative performance of companies serving the industry, including manufacturers/suppliers; distributors; retailers; service and repair; and collision.
  • The monthly Aftermarket Perspectives from The NPD Group, which delivers insight into industry trends and examines business issues imperative to aftermarket manufacturers and retailers.
  • The monthly Telematics Trendline, a series of articles by Derek Kaufman, C3 Network, Inc., designed to inform AAIA members about the trends in telematics applications for both the retail automotive and commercial trucking industries.
  • The monthly AAIA Industry Indicators Report, created to provide insight into some of the key indicators affecting the aftermarket industry. The report is a statistical compilation of key variables that are released by a variety of business and economic sources.

The AAIA SmartBrief includes stories not only affecting the aftermarket and the association, but leading national and international news stories, business leadership, sales and marketing and automotive trends as well. Stories from AAIA’s weekly e-newsletter Capital Report, which is distributed on Mondays and covers legislative and regulatory news affecting the industry, are featured in each issue. Additionally, each AAIA segment has a news page, accessible in each issue, and key segment-specific headlines are highlighted every time.

“The AAIA SmartBrief is a quick-read digest of content with a unique work-life balance mix,” said Rich White, AAIA senior vice president, marketing and member relations. “We can communicate more frequently by connecting members to industry, business and association-specific news, issues and trends.”
